Introducing Josiah!...

I finally got some pictures uploaded of the little guy!!  So I want to introduce you to Josiah Anthony, my grandson, this morning :D!!.  I miss him sooooooooooo badly.  I haven't seen him in two weeks tomorrow.  Chelsea said that he gained two pounds in just the week after I left!!  How he must be changing.  I spent almost three weeks in Florida with Chelsea and Josiah and the father, Desmond, so it was so hard tearing myself away.  Desmond - Desi is a really good father.  I felt so much better coming home knowing that they were both good parents and Desi was a good mate for Chelsea.    So, without further ado, I give you Josiah Anthony...

Here he is just moment's old...

Here is Josiah just a day old getting Grandma kisses!...

Josiah is laying on his Mama!...

And the day before I left...

I came home with 75 pictures on my camera.  I don't want to show you THAT many!  LOL  Hopefully Chelsea will be sending me some more really soon.  She doesn't have a working computer in her apartment right now, but is trying to get that set up.  Hurry, Chelsea, before he is walking and I miss everything!  LOL  Chelsea plans on visiting in January with the baby.  That would be glorious!!  I hope it comes to pass.  She is thinking about getting a part-time job for money right now.  Her old boss told her she could come back to work two days a week.  She wanted to stay home with the baby and not have to work, but money is tight.  I remember how hard it was to leave my little Chelsea when she was tiny.  I hope it all works out for them.  It's nice because she talks to me almost every day on the phone.  Sometimes twice a day.

I got a call from my Matt last night at 1:30am (yep, in the middle of the night!)  Stop scaring me, Matt!  He just wanted to chat.  It was a nice hour-long chat.  He's at the University of Florida now.  He seems very happy.  He likes some of his courses and doesn't really like some others.  He is thinking of changing his major.  That is a big deal (to me) because he has wanted to be a music teacher for quite some time.  He told me he shaved his head.  I don't blame him because he has been going bald for a couple of years now.  He seems to like it.  He already has a girlfriend.  Her name is Missie.  Hi Matt and Missie!!   She is from Arkansas.  Matt now has two tattoos, an eye-brow ring, a bald head and a goatee.  My how he has changed in one year!

I will be doing The Photo Scavenger Hunt and the Monday Morning Question for Krissy this week.  If you would like to participate in The Photo Scavenger Hunt please come back tonight and see what the subject is.  It promises to be a very special one thought up by a special journaler!

I am feeling very solemn as the five-year anniversary of 9/11 approaches.   The President has issued
a Proclamation for a moment a silence and flying of flags half-staff tomorrow.  Please read this and let us not ever forget!  May God continue to bless all of us!  Have a lovely weekend!  xox

  2. He's so cute!  No wonder you didn't want to leave :)

Is he mixed?  He looks darker than his Mommy... I think mixed race babies are adorable, but I'm biased ;)

We have a new baby at our daycare named Josiah... I really like that name!

Congrats to you, Val!  And to Chelsea and Desmond, too!  What a great job they've done...

  18. What a doll he is. I know you must miss him terribly I know I miss my grandkids and they are bigger. At his age they change daily. I am so glad he has a daddy that takes care of him and mama, and a grandma that loves him. Kids need all the love they can get.
Matt is really doing good sounds like making lots of changes which can be good. What are the tatoos of? I have thought about getting one but haven't decided yet what I want it to be off plus I haven't had the xtra money but maybe in time.
Hope you have a great day.

  24. Best wishes for Chelsea and Desmond!   Little Josiah Anthony looks like a real cutie!     I guess as a guy I can say that about this little boy.     When I was a baby sitter for my neice one summer in the mid 1960's it was a rewarding experience being involved with her at the farm way out in the country in S. Illinois.    Being from a suburb in N. Illinois I remember looking out from a garden toward the hills and valleys and thinking how much I would like to live my life there.     Well, that came true and I am happy that I ended up where I am.     Now your daughter's family is off on a journey for life and who knows what geographic place and careers and enjoyment awaits them.    May they be blessed with good fortune, excitement, and peace.      mark

  26. Oh Val. CONGRATULATIONS to Chelsea and Desi on the birth of baby Josiah.  AND to Gramma Val!!! Oh hon, he is so beautiful. SO precious.  What a little gift from God. I am so glad you got to spend that time with them. I know how you must have hated leaving.  I hope Chelsea is able to get by with working part time.
Sounds like Matt's doing well too.  Glad you are home safe and sound. I've been on pins and needles waiting to see pics of the baby.
