"Weekly Sentence" #19 Winner, etc...

Happy Summer, everyone!  The weather has been beautiful in my neck of the woods the past five or six days.  It has stayed in the 60's and 70's and has been sunny.  The one thing I hate, though, is that there are cicadas everywhere.  I don't mind their sound, but I hate how they fly into me when I am outside.  I've had a couple fly into my hair, and that is NO fun!  Yuck!  They are all over on the ground, too.  Ewwww.  Anyone have cicadas in their neighborhood?

It's time to announce the winner of the "Weekly Sentence" #19!  The letters this week are
FATHER
.  I was disappointed for you guys because I had to disqualify five submissions for different reasons.  Three were not sentences.  One had a wrong letter and one was late.  I am very sorry you guys.  Please make sure that your letters are correct and your submission is a complete sentence.  I still included every submission in the listing, though.  I know you guys work hard, and I am VERY proud of you all!!  Now, the judges and I would like to CONGRATULATE:

Nancy from My Life and Loving It
:

Fathers are terrific, handy, earnest rangers.

Congratulations again, Nancy!!

Deadline, for your information...

Hi, my friends!  The deadline for the "Weekly Sentence" is in about 3 1/2 hours (4PM EDT).  The letters this week are FATHER.  I wanted to let you all know that.

Also, I will be doing a project over the next couple/few days.  I have a very full sidebar and I will be taking some things out and linking them up into entries - things like awards, causes that I support, etc.  These won't be entries for you to read, and I am sorry that they will send out alerts.  I will be putting in the subject line, "This is not an entry".  Please just delete these.  I am sorry for the inconvenience, you all.  I know no other way to do this.  Thanks for understanding!

Have a good Thursday afternoon everyone!  Val =) xox

Weekly Sentence # 18 letters, what's up...

Good afternoon friends!  My sister Therese did show up yesterday.  She, her husband, and I had a two-hour visit.  It was so very nice.  She brought me some earrings that she made.  They are beautiful - silver with Swarovski Crystal beads!  What a sweetie!  Actually, I get along with all five of my siblings.   We all live in different states, so we don't visit one another too often.  It makes me sad.  I do get to see my sister Krissy, though.  She is only 20 minutes away from me, thank goodness.  Therese cut my hair.  It was getting way too long.  Actually, I hadn't cut it since I was bald from my brain surgery.  It  had grown a few inches past shoulder-length.   The weather has been so hot, so I told her to cut it above my shoulders.  I really like it!!  Enough of me, now on to the "Weekly Sentence"...

Time for six new letters, but first I would like to again congratulate Linda from

I started something new...

Hi guys!  Ugh, still sick here.  I'm feeling about the same as yesterday, no sicker, so I probably will start to feel better by tomorrow.  I wanted to let you all know that I have started another blog called "Joy in the Rain".  It is a place where I deposit jokes, quotes, poems and ditties.  I have always been a collector of these, so why not put them in a blog?  If anyone has any favorite quotes or jokes, I would love to have them!  I will give you credit!  Send them to valphish@aol.com.  Thanks!!  I hope you enjoy this new, happy place!!
